Rachael K. Lattimer has been practicing family law since 1996. Over the past two decades, Rachael has counseled and represented hundreds of clients in a wide variety of family matters. Rachael obtained her law degree from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and her undergraduate degree in philosophy from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
Rachael served on the board of directors for the Boulder County Bar Association from 1999-2004. She also was a director for the Boulder County Interdisciplinary Committee on Child Custody for several years. Rachael has taught trial advocacy at the University of Colorado School of Law, has presented family law seminars for the Twentieth Judicial District and conducted workshops on divorce for the YWCA.
Rachael was appointed in 2010 by Colorado Governor Bill Ritter to serve on the Colorado State Judicial Performance Commission which provides evaluations of trial and appellate Judges and Justices that are used by the public to assist in retention voting and by Judges themselves for possible improvement. Rachael served on this commission for the Twentieth Judicial District.
In 2011, the Boulder County Bar Association and Boulder County Legal Services presented Rachael with the John Robert Marshall award. This award is presented yearly to an attorney who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to public service and upholds the highest standards of the legal profession as exemplified by the award’s namesake.
In 1997, Rachael founded Rachael Doan LLC, which later became Rachael K. Lattimer, LLC in Boulder, Colorado, a law firm dedicated to divorce and family law. During her years as managing attorney and business owner, Rachael handled a vast array of family law matters ranging from multi-million dollar asset division cases to emergency child abuse and protection cases. She also was a contract attorney for emergency family law cases for Boulder County Legal Services for many years in conjunction with her practice.
Rachael established Rachael K. Lattimer, P.C. in 2009 and continues to practice exclusively divorce and family law. Rachael lives in Boulder with her two children and enjoys trail running, camping and local food cultivation.
