Colorado uses the term “Parenting Time” to designate when a child/children spends time with a parent. Many states refer to parenting time as “Visitation”. Parenting Time schedules are based upon the “Best Interests” of the child/children. Many factors are considered when determining what those interests are. One of the most important factors the Court considers when ordering a parenting time plan is the developmental needs of the child/children. Other factors include the physical proximity of the parties to each other and the past pattern of involvement of the parties with the child/children.
